Whew! What a week on Etsy, thanks to Jen over at the Cottage Nest! We've been so busy packing up treasures to ship out that the blog suffered slightly. Vase is in excellent condition inside and out with no chips, nicks or cracks. It measures at 9.25'' tall and 5'' in diameter from the opening. I sold one last week and then out of sheer good luck I acquired 2 more this week! Hurry they won't last long.
Back to jen and the 1908 Aqua Ball Jar give away she so sweetly hosted the lucky winner is....."Aunt Grits a.k.a. Maggi" from the "Life Under the Big Oak Tree Blog." Aunt Grits if you could email me your address at sarah.arkanoff@yahoo.com I can get that pretty ball jar on its way to you! Congrats!

party for my sweetie
I've just started to think about Nicks birthday party. He's turning 30 this year and I've convinced him to let me throw him a small get together at our house. I promised nothing BIG, low frills, and very homemade. Sweet- that's just my style anyway! I've chosen blues, yellows, and greens as my colors and I'll put it all together from there. I have just under 2 weeks and counting, here are some of my inspiration photos.
Also Jen was kind enough to host a give-away for me to promote my new Etsy shop. Go visit her at The Cottage Nest here to enter to win a pretty antique aqua ball jar circa 1908. Thank you Jen! And don't forget free shipping anywhere in the world during the month of May!
PS: how cute it that handkerchief bunting in the first photo???

friday find
This beautiful hand painted antique plate is a stunner! It features pretty scalloped edging in an interesting pattern trimmed in gold. The soft baby blue background is accented with pretty white and pink flowers. The plate is in amazing condition with no chips or nicks. Would make nice wall hanging or mix it in with your other china. The plate measures at 8'' in diameter. At $10 this piece is a steal- you can barely buy a plastic plate at target for that much money, purchase a piece of history instead. You can see the listing here.

rocking chair
While meandering around the country market on Saturday I was on complete sensory overload, it was so much fun! I did manage to snap out of it long enough to scoop up this sweet little white rocking chair for Lucy for $15 at an antique shop. I was sitting out in there sidewalk sale just waiting for us. When I got it home that night I whipped up a little chair pad with some white muslin I had leftover from a previous project. I wanted ruffles and I sat at that machine for nearly 2 hours while Nick watched the Burbs and by the time the movie was over all I had was a mess on my hands. Getting a ruffle on something will be the death of me, but they are so pretty. I finally gave up on the ruffles and went for something a little simpler and it took all of 15 minutes. The plan now is to take her picture in it every month starting now at 3 months.

may showers bring june bbq's?
This has been the coolest, wettest start to Spring/Summer in recent memory. I'm feeling supremely waterlogged. I didn't even bother to get Lucy dressed today, it seemed cruel to take her out of her comfy footie jam jams. I'm feeling pretty uninspired- anybody got any good blogs to share they've found recently? I love finding new blogs and then going back through pages of old posts. It's the all cure for rainy days like this one.

pom pom bestill my heart
If I had a million trillion dollars, I'd spend it at Pom Pom. It's the bee knees as far as I'm concerned. It make me want to break out the sewing machine and get to work. I hope you have an inspiring weekend!

friday find
Each Friday I'm going to try and highlight something I've recently listed in my shop. Today I'm sharing with you this sweet little vintage milk glass mixing bowl listed at just $4 and with free shipping and insurance ta boot! It just went up about an hour ago and I'm sure it won't last long... Have a happy weekend everyone!
slack-a-lackin'
So sorry for the week of silence since Monday, things have been crazy around here. The etsy shop sort of just took off and I've been prepping things to ship, how awesome! I also decided to tile the backsplash in the kitchen, and I'm really happy with the result. When I get time to take pictures of it I'll be sure and share them with you. I've also taken a small job on the side at my neighbors shop doing event coordinating, amongst other things. This week I've been painting and updating some of the cabinetry in the showroom a pretty cream color. I'm lucky because I can take Little L with me when I go and she does great. So it's been a hectic week but I'm looking forward to the Country Market tomorrow and a fun birthday party! I hope you all get some well deserved rest this weekend, I know I'll be forcing myself to!

cat's out of the bag...
introducing...
milk glass sorbet desert compotes
aqua ball jar circa 1908
For a while now I've thought about re-opening my etsy shop but it just never felt right. I had tried it last year and I stocked it with my screen printed note cards. It turned out to be kind of labor intensive, time consuming and soon petered out.
I decided this time instead of trying to reinvent the wheel why not stock this new shop with antique and vintage items- just the stuff I love! Plus so it's so fun to load up Lucy in the car and tell her we're going treasure hunting- for her part I named the shop after her. Mother/daughter bonding at it's finest! We've found some pretty great treasures so far and I'm adding new things daily. I've really tried to keep pricing super reasonable especially compared to what other shops have similar items listed for. If I find it for little, I'll sell it for just a little more after all this is mostly about having fun for me and sharing my style.
As part of the grand opening I'm offering FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE!!! I've also included insurance for my client's protection. To my surprise I've already shipped to New Jersey, Philadelphia and Arizona! Not bad for just opening my doors just a few days ago. I'd been trying to keep it quiet until I could get my inventory up enough so with out further ado visit Lucy and I HERE. Oh and referrals are the highest form of flattery so tell your friends if you love what you see! Thank you for your support in my fun new little endeavor!
*special thanks to my good friend John for help with the text on banner!
