hello dolly

Lucy's birthday is in a few weeks and I can't believe she's going to be two already. I knew I wanted to make her a little doll- one she'd hopefully hold on to forever and would become well loved and worn over time. It was quite and adventure seeing as how this was my first foray into the doll making world but I'm glad I made the effort. So here she is. I can't wait to give it to her.

I chose the pattern for it's sweet simplicity and timelessness.

You can find the pattern I used {here.} Now we're looking for an antique or vintage doll cradle to fix up and include with the doll. The hunt is on, I love a good search and a new project.

God Jul!

Merry Christmas Eve to all of you! May you have plenty of family time, baking time, crafting time and napping time over the next couple of days!

I snapped this picture about an hour ago of a certain little girl who's more than ready to start the celebration!

Happy Birthday to my dad tomorrow. It's kind of fun every year to celebrate two things. It just means birthday cake and Christmas pies!

I hope you have a safe and happy holiday! See you soon!!!

little frankenstein

It's been a busy weekend around casa de arkanoff putting away the last bit of Christmas and starting to plan for Lucy's first birthday. I'm quickly discovering how handy it is to have a little girl with a birthday 3 days before Valentines Day. Everything is pink in the stores including the candy, it's perfect! Speaking of little L, she's officially a walker now! She looks a bit like night of the living dead with her arms flailing around but it's so cute. We are so proud of her and you can tell she is too.

Hope you had a great weekend!
