lauren/klein recap

Ralph Lauren has caught my eye this week. His Gatsby inspired Spring 2012 Collection showed so soft a beautiful on the runway. Did you see his ranch on Oprah this past spring? To. DIE. For. right?

Calvin Klein's Spring 2012 collection is so fresh and feminine. Love all the nude tones with splashes of black here and there.

okay...

So like I figured it was pure insanity at Target this morning. For some reason I had thought the store opened at 9am so when Lucy and I waltzed in I was a little surprised to see bare shelves and racks already- turns out they opened at 8am. We forged on though and found lots and lots of great items. Along the way I encountered ARMIES of women with 2-3 carts each piled high with this stuff. They were stealthy too, I overheard one woman on her cell phone talking to one of her friends at another Target location comparing notes.

The one thing I really wanted was the microfiber zig-zag throw which of course was gone. I decided it was worth venturing to the "scary" part of town to that Target to see if they might have it. As luck would have it they had two and I scooped them both up. When I got home I got online to see what was sold out and found the website still crashed.

Now don't go thinking I'm insane and all that stuff is for us. I've listed a lot of it HERE in case you need your fix too. So long for now, I'm pooped. I'm downing this coffee and hopping on the treadmill so I can sit down in time to watch the Flipping Out Reunion and of course TRZP.

Adios!

missoni for target

TARGET has gone and done it again. They've teamed up with Missoni for perhaps their most impressive collaboration yet. I'm not even showing you everything. There are baby clothes and blankets, a line for tweens and more housewares. I'm dying over this. It will be an early morning for me the day this line launches.

this line just might bankrupt us haha. I mean seriously that bike!? You guys are killing me...

the details

You can bet I will be on extreme hat watching duty come Friday morning. It's like a pandoras box of good and bad just waiting to be pounced on by the fashion police and I love it! I think the crazy insane hat tradition is a really fun one- let the creativity flow!

classic kelly

The sun is finally shining outside for now and I've got renewed motivation to get lots done today. I'm so excited for my ex-boyfriends wedding this Friday. Wills and I are only a few months apart in age and I always figured we'd be taking the plunge someday but alas thank goodness that didn't happen because I'm quite smitten with my hubby.

OK enough pretend talk- I did finally watch the Kings Speech last night and I wasn't disappointed- it was wonderful! I'm often reluctant to watch films that have so much hype around them but this film certainly delivered everything it promised. It's part of the royal wedding week bonanza in the Arkanoff household where we've taken up speaking with wannabe English accents, we're watching British films- even the Disney Channel is doing a Royal Wedding themed week so Lucy doesn't feel left out.

Hands down though my favorite princess to date was Grace Kelly. Maybe it was because she was American and that gave every little girl and woman over here something to romanticize over or maybe because she was just so beautiful. Even after all these years she still looks stylish and classic in her wedding photos.

well I'm off, cheerio!

saving the perfect sweater

I bought this pale pink cotton boyfriend sweater a couple of years ago at j. crew. I love it for it's versatility, it can be paired with a pretty dress (like today) or with my favorites jeans and tank. Not to mention it's a great transitional piece for fall to winter and winter to spring. I was so horrified when I pulled it from the wash a while back and found two small holes on the lower left hand front side. I shoved it in the closet with a giant sigh and didn't think about it for a while. Until Monday when inspiration struck and I decided it was worth mending. I cut out a simple flower shape using card stock and traced around it on some fabric remnants. I then strategically sewed on my pattern over the holes. I'm so glad to have my old friend back in rotation.
