green and more green

Happy St. Paddy's Day! We're not Irish in this house but we look darn good in green so we're taking advantage of the color of the today. I'm still so completely obsessed with the green dress Keira Knightly wore in Atonement. Here is some green eye candy, hope your day is filled with green bagels and green beer!

smile

Just when we thought spring was in our midst last week we got blasted over night with more snow. Snow be darned i'm choosing to smile today because i can't wait to plant my booty on the sofa with popcorn an mercilessly critique the oscars (really the arrivals) on sunday and because i know that peony season is right around the corner.

Perfection, just perfection! Check out those herringbone floors!!!! I could seriously get lost in all the subtle details.

And on a completely unrelated note... did you know Fiestaware came in WHITE? I don't know why it never occurred to me to check, probably because when I think of the brand I think of bright rainbow colors. In our quest to find new lead free dishes I decided to just check and see and when I discovered the classic plates do indeed come in white you would have thought I struck gold! I and for the cherry on top they are on sale at Macy's right now.

party for my sweetie

I've just started to think about Nicks birthday party. He's turning 30 this year and I've convinced him to let me throw him a small get together at our house. I promised nothing BIG, low frills, and very homemade. Sweet- that's just my style anyway! I've chosen blues, yellows, and greens as my colors and I'll put it all together from there. I have just under 2 weeks and counting, here are some of my inspiration photos.

Also Jen was kind enough to host a give-away for me to promote my new Etsy shop. Go visit her at The Cottage Nest here to enter to win a pretty antique aqua ball jar circa 1908. Thank you Jen! And don't forget free shipping anywhere in the world during the month of May!

PS: how cute it that handkerchief bunting in the first photo???
