martha's lemon cookies

After spending yesterday afternoon in the kitchen, here's what I have to show for it...

in addition to the mess, I also made these...

glazed lemon cookies.

They are every bit as good as they look too. A little crisp on the bottom and soft on top. Just the right amount of lemony goodness. Lucy gobbled her's up and asked for seconds. I followed this recipe to a T. So thank you Martha for a new keeper!

sunday adventures

For some reason the day light savings time switchover is still affecting our little family. We were on our way to lunch today and suddenly it got very quiet in the back.

BTW if you've never tried eating at Firehouse Subs I highly recommend it! It's super tasty with prices that are comparable to Subway or Quizno's. They also have this really awesome computerized drink machine that dispenses over 100 varieties of beverages. My fave is the diet vanilla Bargs root beer. The decor is cute and the kids meal is served up in a little fireman's hat.

Tonight I baked chocolate chip pumpkin bread from Jen's blog. It was really, {really} good! You can find the recipe HERE.

Tomorrow I wanted to share a really great tutorial I found via Pinterest over the weekend. See you soon!

I love new recipes. It's probably not helping that I'm completely obsessed with Pinterest too. So after making this chicken for dinner tonight with a side of steamed green beans {which Lucy gobbled up-yay!} I broke out the bundt cake pan and tried out this recipe. I have a confession to make. I've never bought "plain" yogurt before like the recipe called for and I couldn't find a small single cup of it at the grocery store so I used "plain" Greek yogurt. I have no idea if that's the same thing or not- don't laugh. I also didn't heat up the blueberries and water on the stove I just nuked it.

Nick and I just both polished off our second slices and I proclaimed it was the best thing I've baked in a while. Try it, I promise it's that good. I hope you had a great weekend, Day Light Savings sort of kicked our parental behinds today, I'm looking forward to Lucy adjusting soon.

Cheers to a great week!

Happy Anniversary... have some cake!

Happy Anniversary to the bestest husband in the world! He's been so great throughout this first trimester hell and I'm so blessed to have him as my husband. Despite the nausea I managed to whip up a cake for the occasion. So simple yet so delish! xoxo
