Nick sent me this picture of Trixie chillin on the recently made over settee Saturday night. She's such a fancy little thing. By the way The Rust-Oleum Painters Touch Ultra Cover for wicker made the paint job super easy! One coat and then a second just for touch ups is all it took. I used the color Granite in satin to get a grey look over the old white, it's actually much lighter than it appears in the photo. The cushion is from Pier One, and pillows on the sides are from Pottery Barn and the center pillow is from Restoration Hardware. There are two matching side chairs as well and they will all look perfect for the new 4 seasons room.

inspired outdoor spaces

I like to dream there are no pesky flies or mosquitos to flick, no humidity and we can lounge around outside all day.

it's always the little things

It's almost always the little things that make me the happiest. Like lots of sun on a really cold day or when you really love a dress at the store and it's like 75 million % off and they have one left and it's actually your size! Breakfast on the weekends or drooling over someones really great blog post. Today we walked the mall for a while (gotta get my prego exercises on) and we popped in Pottery Barn. I found the sweetest little bird mug. I LOVE bird things. Nick knows this and quickly took it from my hands and headed straight towards the register. Of course another mug is the last thing we need but who cares. So I challenge you to do something nice for yourself and celebrate the little things in life.

room in the inn?

Now is about the time I would guess people begin to become acutely aware of the current condition of their guest bedroom(s) or in some cases their lack of of having one. The holidays usually mean either you will be headed somewhere or guest(s) will be headed your way. We gave up our guest room recently to the treadmill which migrated from what has now become the nursery. I'll be relieved when we move someday and I can have it back again because I really enjoyed the idea of being able to offer friends and family a warm cozy bed to stay in. Till then I'll just swoon over these rooms.

lets go outside

I've been day dreaming about having a cozy places to relax and entertain outside lately. I want a spot perfect for curling up with a soft throw and good book on a brisk summer night (the swinging day bed or egg chair would be perfect for this) as well as a place to entertain and barbeque with all our friends.
